Today marks the third day in the traditional Indian Festival of Lights. Its marked with food, family, new clothes, more food. Its also marked by the new year, beginning with a new lunar cycle. Its very hard and sad to be away from our New York family. But my sweet friend, Neha, made it easier for me to teach the girls about our Indian heritage. She put together this awesome scrapbook about Diwali and each of the days and what they represent, culminating in new clothes for the girls! What an AWESOME friend and awesome idea. The girls and I have had a blast reading the book and painting our kodia (candle holders). Here's a couple of pictures of Hannah painting with me. Here facial expressions are priceless!!!
