I spent the last two days "preparing" by doing laundry, mopping, cleaning the house.while JPat took care of the outside. Things around here are crazy. People seem to fall into two categories.. going nuts getting ready (that would be me) or so in denial. I had to drive to 7 gas stations yesterday to find gas....I KNOW we will be ok. Mamaw is out there praying!! Right now we are enjoying some quiet before the storm settles in. The girls are down for their nap, even Hannah. She resisted at first, but we figured it would be a long night! We will update as much as possible. Our family in Orange has evacuated as have some of our friends in Beaumont. Around here though, we know of ZERO families that have evacuated. We will all be in this together!
Phillipians 4:4-8 says the following. We are being taken care of!:
"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things."

hope all is well. we also rode out the storm, but left yesterday for TN. it was a crazy night. update us when you can!
I have a little blog award for you on my website txtanya.blogspot.com. =) Tanya
Hope and pray you guys are doing fine. Riding out a storm like Ike is no fun. We have lived in hurricane zones most of our lives and have vivid recollections of downed trees and no power for weeks. Stay strong.
Love to you all,
BeJo
